When is Windows End of Life?

Windows 10 operating system end of life will arrive on October 14, 2025. After that date, Microsoft will no longer provide technical support, software updates, or security updates.

This change can have consequences for the security and functionality of your business devices.

You have five options after the Windows 10 end of life date:

  1. Ignore the deadline (which is a massive security risk)
  2. Buy a new PC (keep in mind that some mission-critical software may not be compatible with next-gen operating systems)
  3. Abandon Windows (you need serious technical expertise to manage a transition to Linux)
  4. Pay Microsoft for security updates (Microsoft will offer subscription-based Windows 10 security updates after end of life, with limitations)
  5. Upgrade old hardware to Windows 11 requirements (not recommended)
