Teal Maintains ISO 27001 Certification for the 6th Year in a Row

Minneapolis, MN – Teal, formerly known as TechGen, takes threats to the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of our clients’ information seriously.  As such, Teal is an ISO 27001:2013 certified provider whose Information Security Management System (ISMS) has received third-party accreditation from the International Standards Organization.

Very few companies our size have achieved this. Basically, it means our own IT house is in order, so we’re not just saying we can help you do the same — we’re proving it.

What is Does Being ISO 27001:2013 Certified Mean?

The ISO 27001 certification is an information security management system standard published in October 2013 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the world’s largest developer of voluntary international standards, and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

A-LIGN, an independent, third-party auditor, found Teal to have technical controls in place and formalized IT Security policies and procedures. A-LIGN is an ISO / IEC 27001 certification body accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) to perform ISMS 27001 certifications.  Teal has implemented several security measures and countermeasures that protect it from unauthorized access or compromise and IT personnel were found to be conscientious and knowledgeable in best practices.

Compliance with this internationally recognized standard confirms that Teal’s security management program is comprehensive and follows leading practices.

The scope of our ISO 27001 certification includes:

  • Teal Information Assets
  • Responsive IT Managed Services

Teal’s ISO 27001 certification was issued by A-LIGN, an independent and accredited certification body based in the United States on successful completion of a formal audit process. This certification is evidence that Teal has met rigorous international standards in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Teal’s information assets. It also demonstrates Teal’s continued commitment to information security at every level and ensures you that the security of your data and information has been addressed, implemented, and properly controlled in all areas of our organization.

“We are proud of the entire team for this accomplishment. Our customers deserve the commitment to continuous improvement that the ISO 27001 certification requires,” says Reid Johnston, Teal Cofounder and CIO.
