DEI Policy Statement

Teal is committed to fostering a Diverse, Equitable, and Inclusive (DEI) workplace environment where all employees (regardless of their race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, marital status, or any other protected characteristic) are valued, respected, and provided with equal opportunities.

This policy outlines our commitment to DEI principles and sets the expectations for all employees to actively contribute to a culture of inclusion and respect.

Equity and Fairness

Teal promotes fairness and equal treatment for all employees. We strive to eliminate biases, stereotypes, and barriers hindering equal opportunities. Policies, procedures, and practices will be regularly reviewed to identify and address any systemic barriers to equity and fairness.

Inclusive Workplace

Teal fosters an inclusive workplace where every employee feels valued, respected, and supported. We will not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or disrespectful behavior based on protected characteristics.

We commit to creating an environment that encourages open dialogue, active listening, and constructive feedback – promoting an environment where all opinions and perspectives are heard.

Employees are expected to treat everyone with fairness, empathy, and dignity. This includes actively listening to diverse perspectives, encouraging participation from all team members, avoiding discriminatory or derogatory language, and promoting a sense of belonging for everyone.

Recruitment and Hiring

Teal is committed to ensuring a diverse and inclusive recruitment process, including sourcing candidates from underrepresented groups.

Selection criteria and procedures will be objective, fair, and transparent; the selection process will focus on qualifications, skills, and competencies required for the job. We will provide reasonable accommodation during the recruitment process to ensure equal opportunities for candidates with disabilities.

Training and Development

Teal will provide annual DEI training and development opportunities for all employees. Training programs will cover topics such as:

  • Unconscious bias
  • Cultural competency
  • Harassment prevention
  • Creating an inclusive work environment

 

Managers and supervisors will receive additional training on DEI leadership and creating inclusive teams.

Reporting and Accountability

Any incidents or concerns related to discrimination, harassment, or other violations of this policy should be promptly reported to Human Resources (HR). Teal is committed to ensuring all reports are handled confidentially, impartially, and with appropriate action taken.

If the reporting employee does not feel comfortable using email to communicate, they can contact HR through other means, including, but not limited to:

  • Phone call
  • In person conversation
  • Teams message/meeting

 

Retaliation against any individual for reporting concerns or participating in the investigation of a complaint is strictly prohibited.

Policy Communication and Review

This DEI policy will be communicated to all employees and made readily accessible. The policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with the company’s goals and legal requirements.
